06/30/2026 Click Above to Watch the Morning Market Talk Video Quiet Ahead of USDA’s Storm On the Grains Grain and soy markets traded in relatively tight ranges during a quiet overnight session ahead of USDA’s Acreage and Grains Stocks Reports at 11 a.m. CT. Aside from those two potentially market-moving reports, today also marks the start of the delivery process for July grain/soy futures, along with it being the last trading day of the month and quarter. All was calm overnight, but there could be some explosive price moves late today. USDA’s Acreage Report is expected to show a slight decline in corn acres and a mild increase in soybean plantings compared to March intentions, though there is growing chatter that both could rise. If combined corn and soybean acres rise much above 180 million acres, it would be a bearish surprise given projected poor margins for this year. June 1 grain stocks are expected to be up sharply from year-ago, especially for corn, which analysts see reaching the highest since 1988.
