Traders are monitoring two potentially key developments that supported markets on Thursday, as China was shopping for U.S. soybeans, while Argentine oilseed processors are threatening a strike next week as wage talks between unions and the country’s crushing and export industry remain unresolved. Traders are also watching weather forecasts, as temperatures are expected to soar next week. Key will be how long the extreme heat lasts. A short bout of extreme temps ahead of widespread corn pollination wouldn’t be a concern. If the extreme heat extends into mid-July, concerns will build. Also, President Trump at a White House dinner with agricultural leaders on Thursday doubled down on his pledge that Iran will soon begin purchasing U.S. ag commodities with unfrozen Iranian assets.
