The initial signing of the Memo of Understanding (MOU) with Iran broke a couple of dams. One broken loose was the fleet of tankers and cargo vessels choked up behind the blocked Hormuz strait. Many ship owners did not have to be told twice that the strait was open. Some rushed to fire up their engines and dozens made way for the exit to what was said to be an opened strait. President Trump called it a “gusher”. Yet, this initial surge of movement was less than one might have expected as caution remained. That caution was warranted as when Israel and Hezbollah went at it again Iran says that they closed the strait. Global Ship Tracking Intelligence reported a significant number of vessels all congregating in Iranian waters near to what they called the “toll booth”. They are not supposed to pay a toll or fee but the IRG has another gig going for them. They reportedly require proof of approved insurance for passage and guess where the only place is where they can buy it?
