06/18/2026 China Buying Rumors Still Swirling Morning Market Talk There will not be a Morning Market Talk this morning, Eric is traveling today.  He will return Monday morning. On the Grains Corn and soybean futures pulled back overnight as traders tapped the brakes on the recent corrective buying. Soyoil futures faced heavy pressure overnight as that market has rolled over and funds are liquidating some of their length. Wheat markets modestly favored the upside in two-sided trade. Traders will position themselves today for the three-day holiday weekend, while trying to sort through demand rumors. USDA announced daily soybean sales of 372,000 MT to unknown destinations on Wednesday, with 60,000 MT for 2025-26 and 312,000 MT for 2026-27. It’s relatively safe to say that business was to China given the rumors earlier in the week and the confirmation of at least two cargoes purchased from an export source. That source says to expect another daily soybean sale soon, possibly this morning – this time to Mexico. There’s also talk of China shopping around for U.S. corn and wheat. China has already been regularly buying U.S. sorghum with confirmation in weekly sales data. Via the trade deal in mid-May, China needs to…
