06/16/2026 Click Above to Watch the Morning Market Talk Video More Risk Premiums Removed On the Grains After corrective gains on Monday, grain and soy complex futures faced price pressure overnight. Monday’s lows stand as key near-term support. If those lows are violated, it would open the door to a fresh wave of fund selling. Funds are now net short corn and the winter wheat markets but still hold net long positions in the soy complex. War premiums have been removed from grain and soy markets and weather is non-threatening, limiting the upside to modest bouts of corrective buying until there’s a fresh bullish catalyst. Crude oil futures are trading below $80 for the first time since March 10, as traders remove more geopolitical risk with the Strait of Hormuz expected to reopen this week, increasing the flow of oil and other energy products out of key waterway. But prior to the war with Iran, front-month crude oil futures were trading around $67. Corn, Soybean Conditions Improve; Slightly Above Average USDA rated 68% of the corn crop as good or excellent, up one percentage point from the previous week and the five-year average.
