02/18/2026 Soybeans, Soyoil Boost by Demand Hopes Morning Market Talk There will not be a Morning Market Talk video this morning. On the Grains Soybeans, soyoil and winter wheat markets led gains during overnight trade. Corn, soymeal and spring wheat modestly followed to the upside. Crude oil futures are trading around $1 higher, while gold and silver are also firmer. Traders await minutes from the Fed’s latest monetary policy meeting, along with news on separate U.S. peace talks with Iran and Russia/Ukraine. The big news awaited for agriculture is biofuels blending mandates for 2026, which EPA is expected to submit to the White House for final review this week. There’s optimism this will boost demand for biofuels, bio-based diesel in particular. The National Oilseed Processors Association reported its members crushed 221.6 million bushels of soybeans in January, which was a record for the month and the third highest monthly total ever. Through the first five months of 2025-26, NOPA crush totaled 1.088 billion bushels, up 19.2% from the five-year average. Soyoil stocks jumped to 1.9 billion pounds, 49% above year-ago and the highest since April 2023. The sharp rise in soyoil stocks shows the need for greater certainty on domestic…
